We are Committed to Providing Top Notch Services

Sustainable Design

The greenest energy is the energy a building never needs. We start with orientation, shading, insulation and natural ventilation, and only then add heat pumps, solar panels and smart controls where they make a real difference.

We calculate the embodied carbon of every scheme, prefer timber, lime and recycled materials, and design for disassembly, so today's building becomes tomorrow's material bank.

Our Expertise

Passive house design, daylight and energy modelling, life-cycle carbon assessment, rainwater and green-roof systems, and support for LEED, BREEAM and Passivhaus certification.

Sustainability is not a layer of technology on top of a building – it is a way of drawing the building in the first place.

Our Services and Approaches

We model energy and carbon from the concept stage and share the numbers at every review, so you can weigh comfort, cost and impact with real data instead of guesses.

Frequently asked questions

Does sustainable design cost more?

Usually only slightly at the start, and it pays back through lower running costs. Many passive measures – the right orientation, shading, compact form – cost nothing at all.

Can you help us get a green certificate?

Yes. We have guided projects through LEED, BREEAM and Passivhaus and can act as your assessor or work with yours.

Can an existing building become low-energy?

Very often. A deep retrofit with insulation, new windows and a heat pump can cut energy use by more than half.

Which materials do you prefer?

Timber, lime, clay, recycled steel and local stone – materials with low embodied carbon that age gracefully.
